Equinox Lodge - luxury bed and breakfast accommodation

At Equinox Lodge we provide luxury bed and breakfast accommodation at Kare Kare beach in the wild tranquil Waitakere ranges. Only a short 40 minute drive from Auckland city (but a hundred miles from your worries and stress) takes you to Equinox Lodge retreat settled amoungst the beautiful native bush with views of Kare Kare beach (made famous in the movie 'The Piano'). Once there, relax, soak in the peace and quiet, enjoy listening to the birdsong of tuis whilst sitting by the pool watching the most beautiful sunsets unfold.

Equinox Lodge with it's original Art Deco features throughout, provides total privacy and a unique retreat. Guests can have exclusive use of the downstairs with french doors opening out to the pool or single party bookings are also welcome. A choice can be made between dining upstairs on the terrace with hosts, or self catering if one desires.

Walkers / Trampers

Waitakere Ranges covering over 16,000 hectares, has around 250km of walking tracks through bush, over hills or along a beach. Equinox Lodge is ideally centred as a base for those wanting to explore the many walking tracks available to them from simple half hour walks to full day tramps and more. We welcome those people who want to explore our local area on foot and once you've completed your walk or tramp relax in our pool or spa.
